No Thanks, I've Got Better

My Pretty Rose Tree

A flower was offered to me,
Such a flower as May never bore;
But I said "I've a pretty rose tree,"
And I passed the sweet flower o'er.

Then I went to my pretty rose tree,
To tend her by day and by night;
But my rose turned away with jealousy,
And her thorns were my only delight.
-William Blake

I found this poem in search of poems to feature in April's (National Poetry Month) log at work. After reading this i couldnt help but laugh.

In my mind i saw a girl tryna holla at a guy; the guy turning her down and going to get cozy with his girlfriend/wife; and the other girl getting mad. Not that rejection is funny or anything. But that's exactly what this poem depicts. And it's hilariously accurate depiction of honesty, trust, and loyalty (from his perspective). =D

Turn Me On

Oh man, how i love these sims videos. Hahaha. They're SO funny. Hahaha.

I know how hard this can be. I'm a Sims fanatic, and i still cant imagine doing one of these videos. It's just amazing. See for yourself:

While we're on the subject of Miss Hilson, i read an album review from HipHopDX.com. And I slightly agree. Even with all this hype, it seems like she's been lacking a bit as an artist. She has all the right components of making a great artist but doesnt quite cut it. It was hard for me to categorize with contradicting singles like Energy and Return the Favor. Turning Me On helped a bit but the song was alightly a turn off, until Wayne saved the day. YAY WEEZY! Then it grew on me.

And as catchy as here singles are, I often caught myself in & out of listening. But i still had hope for her and i still do. There just arent enough prevalent black females in the HipHop/R&B game right now (not to me anyway). So after listening to her album "In a Pefect World..." i would say it's an adequate first cd. I dont like listening to single tracks on a cd so once u breeze thru the first few songs, it's pretty good. I still see room for growth. But like all artists, she will. It's a little harsh on me to expect perfection, even with the pressures of her hype. But she'll soon match it. And i cant wait til she does.

What Goes Around...

... Doesnt always have to come back around.

Yahoo recently gave J.Lo some heat for wearing pants like these. But actually, she's being fashion forward. I believe i saw this in someone's 2009 fashion collection on Style.com.

Albeit, i dont think i could do this one. The boots i love. The shirt's hott too. The headband... uhhh... not so much. The pants, even less likely. I have to give props to the model tho. She rocks it well. And i guess that's it. You just have to ROCK it. And rock it right. This is a flemsy look to me. You either get it or u dont.

Is it a style risk u're willing to take??? I say, sure why not. But if i change my mind in the dressing room, dont be surprised.

It's Your Life...

This pic is based off a pic of me. Maybe I'll post the real one... or maybe not. Who knows. Anywho, I sketched the pic of me then worked some magic on Photoshop Element 5.0. Cool huh? I'd like to think so. Check out my DeviantArt page for more.

Fashion in Action, vol 1

So this is the first "Fashion in Action" blog. I wanted to start off with something light before I went totally extreme. (Uh-oh... ^_^)

This is Christian Dior's Spring 2009: Ready to Wear line. I absolutely LOVE these! Later I'll post stuff from his couture line. TRUE GENIUS!
